Corinthians commissioned a technical inspection at the Alfredo Schürig Stadium, Fazendinha, to meet the requirements of the process of releasing the stadium to hold matches. The work was led by civil engineer Osmar Meireles dos Santos, who prepared a report later attached to the São Paulo Football Federation (FPF) system. The document analyzes structural, accessibility and comfort aspects of the sports venue. Among all the conclusions presented, the one that draws the most attention is the recommendation for the complete demolition of Setor Oeste.
The West Grandstand has not received fans since 2018. At the time, assessments carried out by the FPF itself and the Military Police of the State of São Paulo indicated that the space did not meet adequate security conditions. Since then, only the North, South and East sectors remain available for use during matches. Currently, the closed area houses the club's rowing department and a Military Police base.

The technical report has 159 pages and was produced after inspections carried out between the 15th and 18th of June. According to the analysis, the West Sector contains the most severe structural failures in the entire Fazendinha. Elements such as pillars, beams, consoles and the grandstand itself were classified as critical risk. Hiring the service cost Corinthians R$6,000, and the report will be valid until June 16, 2027.
Among the irregularities identified are apparent steel reinforcement, deficiency in the concrete layer that protects these structures, corrosion, infiltrations, fissures, cracks, carbonation of the concrete, wear of the physical-chemical properties of the materials, problems in the movement joints, damage to support devices and structural deformations. In the specific case of the stands, the document also highlights deformations above the limits considered acceptable.
According to the responsible engineer, all of these pathologies represent a high level of risk as they endanger people's safety, reduce the functionality of the structure, significantly increase maintenance costs and compromise its useful life. For this reason, the main orientation presented in the report is that the West Sector remains completely deactivated and is demolished.
"Risk of causing damage to the health and safety of people and the environment; excessive loss of performance and functionality causing possible downtime; excessive increase in maintenance and recovery costs; significant compromise of useful life. Suggestion not to use the structure for any purpose, guidance on demolishing the entire structure", pointed out the engineer.
The inspection aimed to verify the general conditions of Fazendinha from the aspects of engineering, comfort and accessibility, identifying possible problems, classifying their risk levels and indicating the interventions considered necessary. The report also informs that the West Sector has never undergone structural reinforcements since its construction and that it has also not received expansions or modifications that would increase its load over the years.
Without the use of the closed stands, the stadium's capacity was calculated at 9,873 spectators, although the document considers 9,000 seats as a number that offers a wide margin of safety. The planned distribution is 4,200 places in the North sector, 3,500 in the South and 1,800 in the East.
In addition to the analysis of the West Sector, the report also evaluated other spaces at Fazendinha, including stands, engineering systems, installations and accessibility items. In the North, South and East sectors, the inspection found no relevant structural problems, and most of the components received a satisfactory evaluation.
In the electrical system, the opinion was classified as "met with restrictions".
Among the recommendations are the modernization of power panels, replacement of equipment, implementation of identification diagrams, recovery or exchange of lighting posts that have exposed hardware and carbonation, in addition to the treatment of corrosion spots in the metal structures responsible for supporting the reflectors. Still, the report highlights that there are no immediate risks related to this system.
It is worth remembering that, between May 2025 and March 2026, Fazendinha was unable to host matches at night as determined by the São Paulo Football Federation, due to deficiencies in the lighting system. During this period, the women's team had to transfer part of its commitments to other stadiums.
The solution to the problem came after work carried out by the Corinthians Heritage and Works Department, which replaced the wiring and installed new reflectors purchased by the club itself. The investment exceeded R$400 thousand.
Before starting the renovation, the board evaluated three proposals presented by specialized companies. All exceeded R$2 million, a value considered incompatible with the club's financial reality. Given this, Corinthians chose to purchase the necessary equipment and carry out most of the services using its own structure.
The lawn also received improvements during the second half of May and the first week of June. According to the club at the time, the intervention aimed to offer better conditions for holding matches throughout the season.
The report also points out that the waterproofing systems, hydrosanitary installations, grounding, Atmospheric Discharge Protection System (SPDA) and telephony meet the requirements, presenting only minor restrictions in some cases. Regarding accessibility, the document notes that Fazendinha does not have parking or an exclusive space for fans to embark and disembark.
Inaugurated on July 22, 1928, Fazendinha was, for many years, the home of the Corinthians main team. In the early 2000s, it began to be used as a professional football training center. With the inauguration of CT Dr. Joaquim Grava, the stadium began to host mainly matches for the club's youth teams and women's team.
