Kuwait's air defenses are responding to "hostile threats from missiles and drones", the country's armed forces reported in the early hours of Wednesday (8).

"The Chief of the General Staff of the Army informs that, if sounds of explosions are heard, they result from the interception, by air defense systems, of enemy attacks. Everyone is asked to follow the safety and protection instructions issued by the competent authorities", stated the army.

In the same morning, Iran's Revolutionary Guard claims to have struck 85 US military installations in Bahrain and Kuwait "in response to the US violation of the ceasefire".


Iran has previously attacked US military installations in Kuwait, including Ali Al Salem air base, Camp Arifjan and Camp Buehring.


As shown by CNN, Iran also warned that it would give an "overwhelming response" to Tuesday's (7) US attacks - at a time when the ceasefire between the two countries is increasingly unstable.


"The Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran will deliver a crushing response to US aggression and terrorist action," Iran's joint military high command, Central Headquarters Khatam al-Anbiya, said, according to state broadcaster IRIB.


The command added that "under no circumstances will it permit interference in the affairs or management of the Strait of Hormuz."
