ABIOVE (Brazilian Association of Vegetable Oil Industries) updated the soy complex statistics and revised its projections for 2026.


The new balance points to the continued advancement of domestic processing, supported by the record harvest and the demand for derivatives.


The estimates for 2026 were revised in relation to the previous survey, with soybean processing in the country expected to reach 63 million tons, an increase of 0.8%.

This advance in industrial activity is directly reflected in the supply of products with higher added value, with soybean meal production estimated at 48.1 million tons and soybean oil at 12.55 million tons.


Total soy production is estimated at 180.25 million tons, according to data from Conab, while projected imports are 900 thousand tons of grain and 125 thousand tons of soy oil.


The update reinforces the Brazilian industry's ability to respond to harvest volume and market demands.

The advancement of crushing increases the addition of value to national agricultural production and contributes to the predictability of supply and the competitiveness of the sector. In foreign trade, soybean exports are projected at 114.1 million tons.


Bran exports are expected to reach 24.95 million tons, an increase of 0.6% compared to the previous projection. Soybean oil exports are expected to reach 1.65 million tons, growth of 3.1%.

In terms of value, the soybean complex should generate around US$60 billion in exports. Monthly data for April 2026 confirms the sector's operational pace, with processing in the month totaling 5.09 million tons, which represents an increase of 0.2% compared to March 2026 and an increase of 6.7% compared to April 2025, when adjusted by the sample percentage.


In the year to date, processing was 18.124 million tons, an increase of 10.1% compared to the same period in 2025, when adjusted by the sample percentage.


The Brazilian soybean industry is expected to further increase the addition of value to national production in 2026. New projections released by the Brazilian Association of Vegetable Oil Industries (Abiove) indicate growth in domestic processing of the grain, driven by the record harvest and firm demand for soybean meal and oil.
