Ukraine carries out biggest drone attack against Russia since the start of the war
Russian President Vladimir Putin is rejecting calls to negotiate peace with Kiev and is expected to intensify the war in Ukraine in the coming months, according to the Reuters news agency.
The information comes from three sources close to the Kremlin, heard anonymously. According to them, Putin remains steadfast in his main objective of capturing the rest of the Donbas region in eastern Ukraine, and Ukrainian drone strikes on Russian oil refineries and ports have reinforced his determination to keep fighting for now.
One says that the Russian president recently reprimanded a group of advisers who suggested a deal based on a ceasefire along the current front lines.
In June, Putin publicly rejected an appeal made by the president of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, for a meeting and a ceasefire.

On Monday (6), the President of the United States, Donald Trump, stated that Putin wants an end to the war and that a resolution to the war is "closer than people imagine."
The statement comes two days after a telephone conversation lasting almost 90 minutes between the two, in which Trump offered help in finding a solution to the war in Ukraine, according to a Kremlin advisor.
"The American president once again confirmed his willingness to work for a quick end the fighting and find solutions to overcome the crisis", said Ushakov when commenting on the conversation between Trump and Putin.
This Thursday (9), a day after Trump authorized Ukraine to produce Patriot missiles during a conversation with Zelensky at the NATO summit, the Russian government maintained its diplomatic stance towards Washington:
"There is a certain dualism in the US position, but they remain firm in their position to help find a peaceful solution. we are not naive, the license is new information for us."
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said, however, that the US is mistaken in believing that attacks from Ukraine on Russian territory could help end the war.
