Corinthians defined its strategy for the current transfer window. Before seeking reinforcements, the board intends to negotiate between two and three athletes from the professional squad to generate revenue, reduce financial pressure and pay off commitments considered a priority. The information was released by the Meu Timão portal.
Among the most urgent pending issues is the payment related to the signing of midfielder José Martínez from the Philadelphia Union, in the United States. The debt was responsible for the transfer ban imposed by FIFA, which currently prevents the club from registering new players.

In addition to this case, Corinthians still needs to resolve other disputes involving international negotiations. One of them concerns the purchase of the Charles steering wheel. The other involves the renewal of Talles Magno's loan, carried out in 2025. If these debts remain unresolved, the club could suffer new punishments applied by football's highest governing body.
Only after regularizing these financial obligations does the board intend to analyze the investment capacity to define possible hiring in this window.
Behind the scenes, three names appear as the main candidates to leave the squad: midfielders André Luiz and Breno Bidon, as well as striker Yuri Alberto. The three attract interest from teams abroad, while André Luiz and Yuri Alberto have already been close to being traded on previous occasions.
In the case of André Luiz, Corinthians even forwarded, in February, the sale of 70% of the midfielder's economic rights to Milan, in Italy. The proposal provided for the payment of 15 million euros, around R$90 million at the rate for that period, in addition to another 2 million euros in bonuses for sporting goals. Despite progress in talks, the transfer ended up not being completed.
In recent months, Yuri Alberto has once again demonstrated his interest in playing in European football. In January, Fenerbahçe presented an offer of 18 million euros - approximately R$ 112 million at the time - for number 9. The proposal, however, was rejected by the black and white board.
The European market is now officially open and will remain operational until the end of August. In Brazil, the main window for registrations takes place between July 20th and September 11th. Before this period, the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) created an extraordinary window between the 10th and 18th of July, exclusively for national negotiations involving athletes who already compete in competitions in the country. The measure was adopted due to the anticipation of the 19th round of the Brazilian Championship.
With a debt approaching R$2.7 billion, Corinthians established in its budget for 2026 the expectation of raising R$151 million through the sale of players' economic rights.
Meanwhile, the transfer ban remains active. The punishment applied by FIFA stems from the delay in paying the Philadelphia Union for the signing of José Martínez. After also being defeated at the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS), Corinthians was forced to pay 1.425 million dollars, around R$7.4 million at the current exchange rate, in addition to annual interest of 15% and other charges provided for in the decision.
Another international process involves New York City FC. At the beginning of June, the São Paulo club was ordered to pay 850 thousand dollars related to the renewal of Talles Magno's loan. Still, there is the possibility of appealing the decision.
There is also a dispute with FC Midtjylland, from Denmark. After a trial at CAS, Corinthians was ordered to pay more than R$6 million for failing to comply with an agreement signed when hiring midfielder Charles. If the amount is not paid within the specified period, a new transfer ban may be imposed on the club.
Financial problems, however, are not limited to international disputes.
Internally, Corinthians is accumulating delays in paying commitments to athletes and employees.
In the last two months, the club did not pay the registered salaries (CLT) of the professional squad within the deadline. Additionally, image rights expiring on June 20th remain pending.
The situation also affected the women's team. Brabas only received image rights for the month of June this Tuesday, which should have been paid on June 15th. The deposit was made after a delay of 22 days.
Other financial obligations remain open with women's football. Among them are still unpaid installments of the prize for winning the Women's Libertadores, which had been agreed to be paid in 12 installments.
Part of the award for runner-up in the FIFA Champions Cup also remains pending. Corinthians received R$5.3 million for the campaign in the competition, but the 80% allocated to the athletes, coaching staff and other members of the group has not yet been fully transferred.
Financial difficulties also reached the youth teams. In June, players receiving financial assistance from the club had their payments made approximately two weeks late.
