Itamaraty sees the risk of the United States using military force in Brazil after classifying PCC and CV as terrorists
The government of United States President Donald Trump classified as "absurd" Itamaraty's assessment that the decision to classify Comando Vermelho (CV) and Primeiro Comando da Capital (PCC) as terrorist organizations could open space for North American military action in Brazil.

In a note sent to g1 this Tuesday (7), a State Department spokesperson stated that the US is adopting measures based on its own legislation to combat what he called "narco-terrorists" and denied any intention of intervening in Brazil.
"These Brazilian factions now operate in the United States, and we will defend our people against them. Vague allegations of intervention often serve as a pretext to aid and favor some of the most violent groups in the world," said the spokesperson.
In June, the State Department classified the PCC and CV criminal factions as terrorist organizations, contrary to requests from the federal government. The determination opened space for tougher and unilateral actions by the USA against Brazil.
On July 2, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mauro Vieira, sent a document to the Chamber of Deputies stating that there was a risk of possible military action by the United States in Brazilian territory.
The document, signed by Vieira, was sent in response to a request for information from Congressman Evair de Melo (Republicanos-ES) about the measure adopted by the Trump government.
According to the minister, a The US operation in Brazil is one of the possible consequences of classifying the PCC and the CV as terrorist organizations.
According to Vieira, the Brazilian government was not formally informed about the US government's decision before the announcement made by Secretary of State, Marco Rubio.
The minister also said that Brazil opposed the classification of the factions as terrorist organizations because it considered that the measure would not bring benefits and could generate consequences in the country.
"The aforementioned unilateral classification could be invoked as a justification for extraterritorial actions against Brazilian institutions, particularly in the financial, migratory and criminal spheres. There is, moreover, the risk of using US military force against the national territory", says the minister.
