After the victory over Grêmio, in Rio Grande do Sul, on May 30th, in the 18th round of the Brazilian Championship, Corinthians' first half of the 2026 season came to an end. The first part of the team's year playing inside the Neo Química Arena, despite having ended with mostly positive results, had an oscillating start, recording only the team's fourth best start to the year in Itaquera this decade. Corinthians' first match in Itaquera this year took place on January 11, in the first round of the Campeonato Paulista, when they beat Ponte Preta, 3 x 0. They later beat Capivariano (3 x 0), Red Bull Bragantino (2 x 0), Independiente Santa Fé (2 x 0), Vasco da Gama (1 x 0), Peñarol-URU (2 x 0), São Paulo (3 x 2), Barra-SC (1 x 0) and Atlético-MG (1 x 0). In addition, there were two draws: Flamengo (1 x 1) and Palmeiras (0 x 0), as well as defeats to Coritiba (2 x 0), Internacional (1 x 0) and Platense-ARG (2 x 0). The games were valid for Campeonato Paulista, Copa do Brasil, Libertadores and Brasileirão.

In total, there were nine wins, two draws and four defeats, which represents a 62.5% success rate, with 20 goals scored and 10 conceded. Of the 16 matches, four were for Paulistão, eight for the Campeonato Brasileiro, one for the Copa do Brasil and three for Conmebol Libertadores. In relation to Timão's beginnings of the year at the Arena this decade, 2026 only surpasses 2021 (52.08%) and 2024 (58.33%).
