How to confirm if information is reliable?

- Check the author: it is important to pay attention to the author (whether journalist or specialist). Texts without authorship on unknown websites require caution;
- The reputation of the vehicle: be wary of portals with names that imitate famous outlets or that use suspicious URLs (such as ends in .co, .net.br without official registration or obscure domains);
- Use the three-link rule: if the news is factual and relevant, it will necessarily be echoed by other consolidated press outlets;
- Traceability: it is important that the news cites official sources (ministries, police, research institutes, courts);
- Clickbait titles: excessively alarmist, emotional titles, written in capital letters or that end with appealing questions generally do not belong to professional journalism;
- Spelling errors: texts with many grammatical errors, excessive punctuation or that use adjectives loaded with value judgment show a lack of professional review;

How to identify videos made by AI?
The vast majority of these videos are created with Veo, Google's AI that generates productions of up to 8 seconds from text commands.

The tool has been gaining prominence for its high visual quality, inclusion of ambient sound and realistic voices, in addition to correcting common "flaws" that used to appear in previous generations of tools.

According to Ricardo Marsili, AI specialist and Fabrício Carraro, program manager at the Alura technology school, some details may indicate this type of content:

- facial micro-expressions, such as the movement of eyes and lips, may appear strange or unnatural;
- synchronization of lip movement with speech;
- exaggerated and unnatural smiles;
- drawing and hand movements (the AI may add a few extra fingers);
- skin texture, which may appear very smooth, as if a filter had been applied;
- inconsistencies in the way objects interact with light and shadows;
- blurred edges of objects;
- interactions that defy the laws of physics or objects and people that appear and disappear in the image.

And texts?
For texts, the lack of variation in the word is one of the main highlights, as is the use of clichéd expressions, the repetition of generalizations and the lack of deepening of ideas.

The absence of resources that enrich the text and open space for different interpretations, such as metaphors and figures of speech, is also a hallmark of AI productions.

Added to this, the redundancy of information, the scarcity of precise conclusions and the constant dependence on external references highlight the limits of coherence of generative artificial intelligence.

- Pay attention to the style of the conversation;
- Request voice or video calls;
- Ask questions that require more elaborate answers;
- Do not provide personal data;
- Pay attention to dubious links;
- No typing errors;
- Response time
