Corinthians advances in renewal for Under-20 top scorer

Corinthians moved to renew the contract of striker Luiz Fernando 'Luizinho', one of the main highlights of Timão's Under-20 category in the last two seasons. According to information from Central do Timão, the athlete's representatives and Alvinegro advanced to extend the young man's contract, which ends in December 2027.

The renewal, however, does not necessarily mean that the athlete will remain at Parque São Jorge. The report also learned that Luizinho could be loaned out in this transfer window in search of more experience and game play in a professional scenario. According to information released by Lance! U20's top scorer this season with 12 goals in 27 games, the 18-year-old striker arrived at Corinthians at the age of 12, after playing for CATS, from Taboão da Serra, and RB Brasil, passing through all the Alvinegro categories. In the Under-17s, for example, he scored 17 goals in 49 matches - 31 wins, six draws and 12 defeats.

In the year 2024, when he was just 16 years old, he made his debut for the Under-20s, which at the time was facing training problems in the squad and needed to resort to athletes from the minor categories. That same year, he became part of the professional squad's training with Ramón Díaz and was involved in matches against Vitória (F - 2 x 1) and Cruzeiro (C - 2 x 1) in that year's Brasileirão.

In 95 U20 games - 42 wins, 25 draws and 28 defeats - 26 goals were scored. In 2025, he was also Filhos do Terrão's top scorer with 10 goals in 39 games. With categories of dribbling and speed, Luizinho could become an option for Fernando Diniz as a speed athlete on the sides of the field. In the current cast, only Kaio César, aged 22, has this characteristic.
