Trump stated in a post on the Truth Social network that he would use the aircraft that was replaced by the Qatari Boieng 747 to fly to RAF Mildenhall, an American base in the United Kingdom, "out of nostalgia". Brave men and women of the Armed Forces, we are sending the brand new and truly spectacular Air Force One to Mildenhall Air Force Base in the United Kingdom so they can have the opportunity to experience the aircraft. Everyone is very excited and we think they should be the first (...) It's totally worth it to give our great military heroes the chance to appreciate our beautiful new addition to the Air Force fleet!".
The new US Air Force was officially unveiled on June 19th.
The plane, a luxury Boeing 747, was a gift from Qatar to Donald Trump in May 2025. At the time, acceptance by the American president generated controversy. According to The New York Times, Trump "fell in love at first sight" with the aircraft.
"The Air Force's VC-25B Bridge aircraft has officially arrived at the Presidential Airlift Group and will begin its initial commissioning flights, marking the successful delivery of a safe and modified executive platform," the US Air Force said in a statement.
