A video is circulating on social media that supposedly shows a drone show in honor of Neymar that would have taken place at Christ the Redeemer, in Rio, after Brazil's elimination from the World Cup. It's #FAKE.

What are the posts like?
The video, which went viral this Wednesday (8) on social networks such as X and Instagram, shows the public watching a drone show that forms the Brazilian flag and the player's silhouette. The message "Thank you, 10" also appears, which would be a thank you for Neymar's participation in the 2026 World Cup.
See two examples of captions: "The affection of the Brazilian people for the greatest number 10 in the Brazilian team after Pelé"; and "An incredible drone show in honor of Neymar Jr. ✨ Thank you, shirt 10! An unforgettable tribute to one of the Seleção's greatest players."
These statements omit that this is content created with artificial intelligence (AI), as evidenced by the detection platforms for this resource used by Fato ou Fake (read details below). Furthermore, the press office at the Sanctuary of Christ the Redeemer denied that a drone show was held there in tribute to Neymar.
Although the Instagram profile that originally posted the scene describes itself as an "AI video creator and digital filmmaker", this warning may be lost in other publications that shared the same material, leading users to believe that a "tribute" with drones dedicated to the attacker may have actually taken place.
After Brazil was eliminated in the round of 16 of the World Cup by Norway, on Sunday (5), Neymar indicated that he may have ended his career with the Brazilian national team. Still on the lawn, he told ge: "It's over now. I started here and closed here."

In addition, the scene presents inconsistencies common in synthetic creations. The screen of one of the cell phones recording the "spectacle" shows the Brazilian flag in a different version from the dotted version that appears in the sky. Furthermore, in the image of the phone, there is no message "Thank you, 10" (see below).

The Instagram profile that originally posted the video indicated that it had used the PixVerse tool, which creates videos and photos from text commands (prompts).
