The cargo plane, a Boeing 737, disappeared on Tuesday night (7) after reporting a problem with the navigation system during a flight between Sharjah, in the United Arab Emirates, and Karachi, in Pakistan, according to aviation authorities Pakistani.
The aircraft, operated by K2 Airways, carried five crew members: two pilots, two engineers and a member of the support team.
According to the Pakistan Airports Authority, the freighter reported the problem at 9:18 pm local time (3:18 pm in Brasília). Contact with air traffic control was lost a few minutes later.
Controllers attempted to guide the aircraft, but three minutes later the radar showed a rapid loss of altitude and communication was interrupted. The plane was about 287 kilometers west of Karachi.

Data from the monitoring website Flightradar24 indicates that the plane showed sudden changes in altitude in the final minutes of the flight.
According to the platform, the aircraft lost around 1,500 meters of altitude in less than a minute, rose back to approximately 1,800 meters in just 30 seconds and then entered a steep dive.
The last Transmitted data indicated that the freighter was at an altitude of around 335 meters, descending at a speed of 22,400 feet per minute (400 km/h), a rate considered extremely unusual.
"When we see such extreme behavior, it attracts attention, but it is still too early to say what happened without more information", said Anthony Brickhouse, an aviation safety consultant to Reuters.
The Boeing 737-400, model of the plane, is the oldest in the family 737 and two generations prior to the 737 MAX. The aircraft was originally delivered to the Russian company Aeroflot as a passenger plane in 1999 and converted to a freighter in 2012, according to Flightradar24.
This is the only plane in the K2 Airways fleet and entered into service with the company in 2024. The company said it is cooperating with authorities.
If deaths are confirmed, this will be the first fatal plane crash in Pakistan since 2020, when a Pakistan International Airbus A320 Airlines crashed during a landing attempt in Karachi, leaving 97 people dead.
