Billie Joe Armstrong, the iconic lead singer of Green Day, is putting together an explosive supergroup called Cretin Family to pay homage to the legendary Ramones on the 50th anniversary of their debut. Alongside Travis Barker (Blink-182), Tim Armstrong (Rancid) and CJ Ramone, this lineup promises to deliver pure wild rock 'n' roll and unforgettable energy. Supergroup Cretin Family will make their live debut at the Official Ramones 50th Anniversary Tribute, scheduled for August 30 at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery in Los Angeles. The event celebrates half a century since the Ramones' debut album, which changed the world of music forever. In addition to the historic performance, there will be special screenings including John Travolta's debut film "Propeller One-Way Night Coach" and the 50th anniversary of "Carrie" (1976).



Billie Joe Armstrong declared: "The spirit of the Ramones is alive in every backyard punk show, punk club, and festival. Generation after generation of cretins and weirdos become Ramones lovers. Kids are influenced by the Ramones, and they don't even know it yet. ¡Viva Ramones!" His passion for the Ramones is evident - they influenced entire generations without many realizing it.

Travis Barker added: "The Ramones are the blueprint. Punk rock wouldn't be what it is today without them. I'm honored to celebrate 50 years of one of the greatest bands ever!!!" Tim Armstrong added: "From the moment I first heard the Ramones, music was never the same. They are my favorite band of all time! I can't wait to play those great and perfect Ramones songs with my friends CJ, Travis and Billie. It's gonna be wild!"



The tribute goes much further: the Punk Rock Museum in Las Vegas opened a dedicated exhibition, and Rhino Records is preparing special re-releases. John Travolta also celebrated the return to the event: "It was a blast, and I want to return again for the Ramones tribute!"
