Iran's deputy foreign minister stated this Sunday (14) that the suspension of all sanctions imposed on the country will be a priority during the 60 days of negotiations between Tehran and Washington, after the expected signing of an agreement with the United States on Friday (19).

"We have several issues to address. The first is the end of all sanctions against the Islamic Republic of Iran," Kazem Gharibabadi said in an interview with state broadcaster Iran News Network.

According to him, sanctions relief would also include the "repeal of resolutions of the United Nations Security Council and the Board of Governors of the IAEA (International Atomic Energy Agency)."

Iran is among the most sanctioned countries in the world. Even before the war, sanctions, inflation and corruption were already punishing the Iranian economy.

The secretariat of Iran's Supreme National Security Council, regarding the end-of-war agreement, stated on Sunday that Tehran "under the guidance of its martyred leader, has consolidated its superiority in the face of the American-Zionist enemy."

In a statement released on Sunday night, the Iranian government stated that "the text of a memorandum of understanding on negotiations to end the war has been finalized."

"In accordance with the understandings reached, the war and military operations on all fronts, including Lebanon, will be brought to an immediate and permanent end from tonight. Furthermore, the naval blockade against Iran will be lifted immediately and completely," Iran said in a statement.

Tehran also states that the document will be signed next Friday and appreciates the efforts of Pakistan and Qatar in mediating the negotiations.
