Israel's armed forces carried out several attacks in Lebanon this Monday (6), according to reports in Lebanese state media.


The NNA (National News Agency) reported that five locations in southern Lebanon were the target of artillery fire and other Israeli military activities this Monday, including "a large explosion" in the city of Hadatha.


CNN has contacted the Israeli military to request comment. Earlier on Monday, the military said in a statement that the Israeli Air Force "carried out a precision strike" in al-Aqida after a suspicious vehicle approached a group of Israeli soldiers.

Although Israel and Lebanon signed a preliminary agreement last month providing for Israeli withdrawal from two areas of southern Lebanon, Israeli military and political leaders have indicated that the country intends to continue its campaign, saying the agreement permits such action.


It is worth mentioning that Israel's main adversary in Lebanon, the Hezbollah group, supported by Iran, did not participate in the document signed by the two countries and criticized the agreement.


Nevertheless, negotiations will continue. Israeli and Lebanese officials will meet later this month in Rome to discuss issues related to the Israel-Lebanese border, Israeli Ambassador to the US Yechiel Leiter told an audience at the Council on Foreign Relations on Monday.
