IBGE extends registrations for competition with more than 8 thousand temporary vacancies
After being extended, registrations for the simplified selection process of the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE) for the 12th Agricultural, Forestry and Aquaculture Census close this Thursday (9), at 2pm.

Initially, the deadline would end at 11pm last Wednesday (July 1st). However, a rectification notice with the updated schedule extended registrations for another week, until this Thursday (9), at 2 pm.
Those interested must register exclusively online, on the website of the organizing committee, the Instituto Brasileiro de Formação e Capacitação (IBFC). The registration fee is R$53.
The notice provides for exemption from the fee for candidates registered in the Single Registry for Social Programs of the Federal Government (CadÚnico) and for bone marrow donors who meet the established criteria.
In total, the selection process offers 8,238 temporary vacancies distributed across five mid-level positions, with salaries ranging from R$2,128 to R$4,008, in addition to benefits.
The opportunities are distributed throughout the country and cover administrative, operational, supervisory and technological support activities related to carrying out the survey.

In addition to salaries, those hired will be entitled to a food allowance of R$ 1,192, transportation allowance, pre-school assistance, proportional vacations and a proportional 13th salary.
Those approved will be hired for a specified period of time to work on collecting information, supervising teams, administrative support and technological support for census operations.
The Agricultural Census is one of the main surveys carried out by IBGE and aims to gather information about the structure and production of Brazilian rural establishments. The data collected helps guide public policies, financing programs and actions aimed at developing the agricultural sector.
Who can participate?
All positions require a complete secondary education. In addition, candidates must meet the following requirements:
be at least 18 years old on the date of hiring;
be up to date with electoral obligations;
be up to date with military obligations, in the case of male candidates;
have physical and mental aptitude to perform the role;
meet the other requirements set out in the notice.
For the positions of Supervisory Census Agent (ACS), Regional Census Agent (ACR) and Agent Regional Operational (AOR), a valid National Driving License (CNH) category B is also required.
What will the test be like?
The selection will feature an objective multiple-choice test consisting of 60 questions. The contents covered include:
Portuguese Language;
Logical Reasoning;
Ethics in Public Service;
Geography;
specific knowledge of each position.
The test will last four hours and will be administered in the municipality chosen by the candidate during registration, on September 27th.


To be approved, it will be necessary to obtain at least 18 points in the total assessment and answer at least one question correctly in each discipline required for the intended role.
The selection process foresees reservation of vacancies for specific groups:
25% for black and mixed-race people;
5% for people with disabilities;
3% for indigenous people;
2% for quilombolas.
Candidates who opt for the reserved vacancies will compete simultaneously in the broad competition and in the specific lists of quotas, as long as they comply with the validation procedures set out in the notice.
How long does the contract last?
Those approved will be hired initially for up to 12 months to work in the operations of the 2026 Agricultural Census.
The contracts may be extended according to the needs of the IBGE and the progress of data collection work, respecting the maximum limit of 48 months provided for in federal legislation for temporary hiring.
During During the working period, those hired will undergo periodic performance evaluations. Among the criteria observed are attendance, productivity, meeting deadlines and quality of activities performed.
Dismissal may occur if the professional presents performance considered insufficient.
Reserve Registration
Candidates approved beyond the initial number of vacancies will form a reserve registration and may be called up later, according to the needs of the institute throughout the execution of the Agricultural Census.
In practice, this means that candidates outside of the immediate vacancies can still be called during the duration of the selection, if new demands or withdrawals arise.
