Anvisa (National Health Surveillance Agency) ordered the recall of all batches of infant milk formula - 1st and 2nd Childhood of the Essentia Pharma Brand, manufactured by HKM Farmácia de Manipulação Ltda. The measure was published on Monday (8), in the DOU (Official Gazette of the Union).


According to the agency, the action takes place due to the lack of adequate regularization of the product, which did not have the necessary signs to be marketed as a 'children's formula'.


"It uses labels, information and claims that may lead the consumer to believe that it is an authorized infant formula. There is no proof that the product meets the required safety, composition, quality and nutritional value requirements", says the Anvisa statement.

Also according to Anvisa, this "exposes users and young children to health-related risks", in the same way that it can mislead consumers.


As a result, in addition to the recall of the formula, the marketing, distribution, manufacturing, advertising and use of the product are also suspended.
