Zenit announces signing of striker revealed by Corinthians

This Monday (29), Zenit, from Russia, announced, with a four-year contract, the arrival of striker Felipe Augusto, 22 years old, revealed in the Corinthians youth categories. According to information from the international press, the negotiation with Trabzonspor, from Turkey, was closed at 15 million euros (approximately R$88.6 million), with the possibility of a further 5 million euros (approximately R$29.6 million) referring to target bonuses stipulated in the contract.

Corinthians will even be entitled to part of the negotiation value, due to FIFA's Solidarity Mechanism. As Felipe Augusto played for Timão between 13 and 19 years of age, the Parque São Jorge club should raise 375 thousand euros (around R$2.2 million), considering only the fixed value of the negotiation. The amount in question may increase if the athlete reaches the bonuses provided for in the contract.

In an interview with Zenit's official website, he stated: "I consider that coming to Zenit is a great opportunity for me and a big step in my career. I played in Belgium and Turkey. So, I know European football well. I see my arrival here as a great personal challenge, I'm very happy and excited", he said.

Felipe Augusto arrived at Trabzonspor in 2025, after a spell at Cercle Brugge, in Belgium. In Turkish football, the striker quickly gained space, became one of the team's highlights and participated in the campaign that ended with the Turkish Cup title. In the decision, played in May this year, he was a starter in the 2-1 victory over Konyaspor, winning his first trophy as a professional.

At his former club, he scored 15 goals in 40 matches, being important for the team to finish the Turkish Championship in third place. In the local championship, he found the net 13 times in 32 games. Before arriving in Türkiye, he played for Cercle Brugge, in Belgium, in the 2023/2024 and 2024/2025 seasons. There, he scored nine goals and six assists in 66 matches.

He left Corinthians for Belgian football in December 2023 for 3 million euros (R$16 million at the time). In European football, in addition to playing as a center forward, he has been tested open on the sides of the field and playing as a midfielder. Formed in the youth categories at Parque São Jorge, Felipe Augusto debuted for the main team in 2021 but was only integrated there, in fact, in mid-2023.

Throughout his time with the professional team, he played 29 matches and scored two goals. For Corinthians Under-17 and 20, there were 33 goals in 80 games, 47 wins, 15 draws and 18 defeats.
