During a hearing this Monday (6), pre-candidate for president Romeu Zema (Novo) declared himself anti-PT, but ruled out being a Bolsonarist and said that the associations between him and former president Jair Bolsonaro (PL) happen because they were both elected together in 2018.

"The PT destroyed my state. Wherever the PT is contesting an election, I will be there on the other side, even though it's Bolsonaro", said Zema, in an interview with the channel Derrubando Muros.

The Novo presidential candidate also said that he only supported Bolsonaro in the 2022 electoral race to oppose the PT, but distanced himself from the former president's position on the covid-19 pandemic, two years earlier: "I support science."

During the hearing, Zema was asked about other issues that affect the Bolsonaro family, such as the former president's amnesty.

"About Bolsonaro's amnesty: yes. Firstly, I was never in the same party as Bolsonaro, he never campaigned for me. (...) Maybe because I'm right-wing, because I was elected with him in 2018 and was anti-PT, this image was created."

For the former governor of Minas Gerais, a new trial would be ideal to "evaluate" the merits of the amnesty.

"Let's put it on the agenda again, go deeper with more impartial people. I believe in electronic voting machines, I think there should be a printed mechanism to be able to carry out a random confirmation, an audit, any improvement mechanism is welcome, but I trust."

Despite the distance taken by Zema during the interview, CNN Brasil showed that former president Jair Bolsonaro has already defended the name of the former governor of Minas Gerais as the ideal vice-president to form a ticket with his son and pre-candidate for the Presidency of the Republic Flávio Bolsonaro (PL).

Even with the polls, however, Zema always resisted the idea, until he broke off his relations with the Bolsonaro family after it was revealed that Flávio had negotiated values with former banker Daniel Vorcaro to finance the film "Dark Horse".

This rupture, made through public criticism of the PL senator, generated a disagreement between the Novo Party directorates in the south of the country, resulting, for example, in the cancellation of an invitation made to Zema for him to attend the Novo SC State Meeting.
