World Cup: Vini Jr. rises to 4th place in FIFA's ranking of best strikers
Forward Vinicius Jr. rose to 4th place in FIFA's Power Ranking of the best attacking players at the World Cup. The entity updated the list, in which he previously appeared in 9th position.
After scoring goals in all games of the first group stage, against Morocco, Haiti and Scotland, the number 7 of the Brazilian team appears with a rating of 8.01.
Vinicius Jr. is behind only Argentine Lionel Messi (8.45), German Deniz Undav (8.42) and French Kylian Mbappé (8.18).
Another Brazilian who gained prominence in the ranking, divided between attack, defense and creativity, was Matheus Cunha, who already scored three goals in the first phase. It appears in 12th position.
Bruno Guimarães, the team leader in assists in the World Cup with three assists, ranks 98th in creativity and 113th in offensive performance. In defense, Casemiro appears in 6th place. Paquetá occupies 30th place in creativity, a category that also includes Vini Jr., in 67th.
To prepare the ranking, FIFA is based on the athletes' performance during matches, receiving grades from 0 to 10 in each of the three categories. Goalkeepers were evaluated in two categories: ball control and defensive performance.
