World Cup: USA x Paraguay has 7 players from the Brasileirão; check it out

The Paraguay National Team will have a strong presence of players who play in Brazilian football in their debut against the United States National Team for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The match takes place this Friday (12), at 10pm (Brasília time), at the Los Angeles Stadium, in Inglewood, California, in the first round of Group D.

Among Paraguay's starters are Gustavo Gómez, defender and captain of Palmeiras, Junior Alonso, full-back of Atlético Mineiro, and Damián Bobadilla, midfielder of São Paulo.

The reserve bench also brings together well-known names from Brasileirão, such as Fabián Balbuena, Grêmio defender, Mauricio, Palmeiras midfielder born in Brazil and naturalized Paraguayan, Isidro Pitta, Red Bull Bragantino striker, and Ramón Sosa, also linked to Palmeiras.

The United States arrives led by Christian Pulisic and Weston McKennie in search of a positive debut in front of the fans.

One of the host countries of the competition, the United States enters the field one day after Mexico, another host, won 2-0 over South Africa in the opening of the tournament. The American team relies on the support of its fans and has striker Christian Pulisic as its main technical reference.

Before the ball rolls, the stadium hosts the opening ceremony of the World Cup in the United States, scheduled for 8:30 pm (Brasília time), with attractions such as Katy Perry, Future, Lisa, Rema, Tyla and Brazilian Anitta.

American President Donald Trump will not be present at the team's debut. The government delegation will be led by Secretary of State, Marco Rubio.
