World Cup: striker who has never played in the United States scores against Paraguay

The United States are defeating Paraguay 2-0 this Friday (12), in Los Angeles, in the game valid for the first round of Group D of the 2026 World Cup. The second goal of the match was scored by Folarin Balogun, a striker who plays for Monaco and has never played in North American football.

Christian Pulisic accelerated down the left side of the attack and crossed into the area. Balogun, with freedom, completed the ball into the net and extended the home team's lead on his debut in the competition.

Revealed in Arsenal's youth categories, the 24-year-old center forward began to play more minutes when he was loaned to Middlesbrough, also in England. His career took off after his time at Reims, France, where he scored 21 goals in 37 matches.
