World Cup: see Messi's goals and Argentina's best moments 3 x 0 Algeria
It was a perfect night for Argentina and Lionel Messi. The team beat Algeria 3-0 in their debut at the 2026 World Cup, and, upon entering the field, number 10 has already reached a great milestone: 200 games for the team.
Messi scored the three winning goals, and with that, he surpassed Pelé, Ronaldo, Mbappé and equaled the German Miroslav Klose as the greatest scorer in the history of the World Cup. At the end of the second half, he was applauded by the passionate fans present at Arrowhead Stadium, in Kansas City.
