The 2026 World Cup began this Thursday (11), with the opening ceremony held in Mexico. The debut celebrations continue this Friday, with inaugural events in Canada and the United States, both accompanied by the first games of the host teams.

Ceremonies
The second ceremony takes place this Friday (12) in Toronto, Canada, before of the hosts' debut against Bosnia and Herzegovina. Among the attractions will be Alanis Morissette, Alessia Cara, Elyanna, Jessie Reyez, Michael Bublé, Nora Fatehi, Sanjoy, Vegedream and William Prince.
The opening ceremony in the United States will also take place on Friday (12). As with other events, the ceremony is scheduled to begin an hour and a half before the United States team's debut against Paraguay. The presentations on American soil will be made by Katy Perry, Future, Lisa, Rema, Tyla and the Brazilian Anitta.
About the 2026 World Cup
The 2026 World Cup will be the first in history to be played in three countries - the United States, Mexico and Canada. In total, 16 cities will host tournament matches, the vast majority in the USA.
