World Cup: find out everything about the opening shows this Thursday

The 2026 World Cup begins this Thursday (11), for the first time with ceremonies taking place in three countries: Mexico, Canada and the United States. This way, there will be three opening shows in each of the countries, the first being in Mexico.

The sequence of performances will begin with Shakira, accompanied by Nigerian singer Burna Boy, who will take the stage at the Azteca Stadium, in Mexico City. They are responsible for the hit "Dai Dai", which is the official song of the 2026 World Cup.

The show will also feature performances by Alejandro Fernández, Belinda, Danny Ocean, J Balvin, Lila Downs, Los Ángels Azules, Maná and Tyla.

The performances will start at around 2:30 pm (Brasília time), ninety minutes before the opening game, Mexico and South Africa, scheduled for 4 pm. There are no details about the exact times the artists will take the stage.

ATV Globo, SBT, SporTV, N Sports, GeTV (Globoplay) and CazéTV (Youtube) will broadcast the opening - CNN Esportes follows in REAL TIME.

On Friday (12), the opening ceremonies of Canada and the United States of America will take place, before clashes against Bosnia Herzegovina and Paraguay, respectively.

For the Canadian opening, the main attractions are Alanis Morissette and Michael Bublé. Also on Friday, Katy Perry, Lisa, from the group Blackpink, Rema and Brazilian Anitta will take to the stage in Los Angeles to sing together to kick off the World Cup in the United States.
