World Cup: Bellingham and Haaland put their friendship to the test in Norway vs England
Norway and England face off this Saturday (11), at 6pm (Brasília time), in a match valid for the quarter-final stage of the World Cup. The duel, which counts for a place in the semi-finals of the tournament, marks the clash between friends Erling Haaland and Jude Bellingham.
The players played together for Borussia Dortmund, in Germany, in the 2020-21 and 2021-22 seasons of European football. During this period, they won a national cup, won against RB Leipzig with two goals from Haaland in the final.
A notable episode from Borussia's time was the victory over Besiktas in the group stage of the Champions League, in 2021. After the game, the Norwegian was being interviewed when the Englishman appeared on camera and kissed his teammate on the cheek. They also recorded a video together in a Valentine's Day special published by the German team.
It can't be that they are two of them going to face each other in the quarter finals and someone who is eliminated.

After Haaland left for Manchester City, the pair met again on a few occasions. In the first, both scored in the English team's 2-1 victory over Borussia Dortmund, in a Champions League group stage clash.
Then, Bellingham, now at Real Madrid, faced Haaland in the quarter-finals of Europe's main club competition. This time, the Spanish had the upper hand and advanced on penalties, with the England midfielder converting his penalty.
In the 2024-25 season, Real eliminated City in the Champions League play-offs, with both athletes finding the net in the first match of the clash. Finally, in December last year, Haaland scored one of the goals in England's 2-1 victory over the Spanish in the league stage of the European tournament.
