The Brazilian Women's Team defeated the United States 2-1 this Saturday (6), at the Neo Química Arena, in the first of a series of two friendlies between the two teams.

Right at the start of the match, the North Americans took the lead with Sophia Wilson. Afterwards, Brazil managed to turn things around before 15 minutes had played, thanks to goals from Tainá Maranhão and Bia Zaneratto. For the rest of the duel, the hosts held off their opponent's attacks and secured the result until the final whistle.

Now, the team led by Arthur Elias will face the USA again next Tuesday (9), at 9:30 pm (Brasília time). The friendly match will be held at Arena Castelão, in Fortaleza.

About the match
Shortly after the ball rolled, the United States already took the score off with striker Sophia Wilson. After two minutes, she took advantage of a ball recovery in the attacking field and hit the corner to put the visitors in front.

Afterwards, Brazil responded with Dudinha, who completed the cross from the right and sent it over the opponent's goal. At the 10-minute mark, winger Isabela crossed to the head of striker Tainá Maranhão, which tied the match.

The Brazilian comeback came soon after, at the feet of center forward Bia Zaneratto. She squared off with Dudinha and shot firmly to make it 2-1. The North Americans got scared again in the 28th minute, with a free kick from midfielder Lily Yohannes, who missed the target. At 44, Wilson tried twice and stopped at goalkeeper Lelê.

After the break, the United States came back better and started to put pressure on the Brazilian team. At the 11-minute mark, midfielder Claire Hutton took a risk from outside the area and saw Lelê make a beautiful save. The ball even touched the crossbar before leaving the end line.

In the next move, there was a hit and a hit in the area, full-back Avery Patterson kicked across the ball and defender Isa Haas saved it almost over the line. The Brazilians held off the USA's pressure until the final stretch, cutting off crosses and blocking their rival's shots.

Forward Gio Garbelini had a huge opportunity to end the match, but ended up wasting the chance in front of goalkeeper Mandy McGlynn. In stoppage time, Jaedyn Shaw hit the ball almost inside the small area. Result: 2-1 and Brazil's triumph at the Neo Química Arena.
