Woman is shot during confrontation between drug dealer in Rio

A woman was shot on Friday night (3), after a confrontation between drug traffickers from the Andaraí and Cruz hills, in the north of Rio de Janeiro.

According to PMERJ (Military Police of the State of Rio de Janeiro), she was rescued and taken to the Federal Hospital of Andaraí.

Also according to the corporation, military police officers from the Borel UPP (Pacifying Police Unit) received information about the victim's entry into the health unit and, after contacting the woman's husband, confirmed that she had been hit by a gunshot in Andaraí.

PMERJ also reported that UPP Borel teams reported hearing gunshots in the region and immediately reinforced policing.

There is still no information about the victim's health status and the circumstances under which she was shot are still being investigated.
