Woman found at sea was attending a party before disappearing

The couple who disappeared after a jet-ski trip in Ilhabela, on the north coast of São Paulo, were participating in a get-together on the high seas, on Sunday night (24), moments before disappearing.

The woman identified as Bruna was found alive only this Tuesday (26), near the coast of Búzios Island.

According to information from the São Paulo Fire Department, they were participating in a celebration on the beach together with a group of friends when, around 3pm, they went for a ride on a watercraft, without informing a defined destination. Soon after, they were no longer seen.

From this, the corporation was called and search protocols were initiated. The air teams managed to locate the following day, on Monday afternoon (25), part of the jet-ski sunk in the water. This contributed to delimiting the search area more precisely.

However, Bruna was only located on Tuesday morning (26) between five and ten nautical miles off the coast of Búzios Island, around 18 km from the point where the couple had left.

She was taken to Ilhabela Municipal Hospital, where she received medical care. Her companion remains missing, but the search continues.
