Woman dies after being shot inside a van in the west zone of Rio

A 28-year-old woman was shot dead while inside a van in Santa Cruz, in the west zone of Rio de Janeiro, this Saturday (13).

According to the Military Police, Carolina da Silva Rodrigues was a passenger in the vehicle, which was traveling on Avenida Antares, when she was hit. The driver provided assistance and took the victim to Pedro II Municipal Hospital, also in Santa Cruz.

Military police officers from the 27th BPM (Santa Cruz) were called to the hospital. After being admitted to the unit, she succumbed to her injuries. It was not known which part of the body she was shot in or how many shots she was hit with.

The case was registered at the DHC (Capital Homicide Police Station). Agents carry out investigations to determine who was responsible for the crime and clarify the facts.
