Military Police Captain Rafael Gustavo de Aguiar said at the hearing that he was surprised by the fact that Lieutenant Colonel Geraldo Leite Rosa - accused of the death of Corporal Gisele Alves Santana - did not attempt any cardiopulmonary resuscitation on his wife.

According to the captain, Geraldo was calm when recounting the sequence of events, and what caught the police officers' attention most was that the lieutenant did not attempt "at any time" to perform the emergency maneuver known as CPR (Resuscitation or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation).

At the hearings, Corporal Adalberto Fernandes Lima, soldier Santos e Silvam and Gisele's father, José Simonal Teles de Santana, gave testimony.

For José, his daughter's death could never be considered a suicide. "My daughter never killed herself. I'm sure of that," said her father during the hearings.

Corporal Adalberto reinforced that the lieutenant colonel was very calm when the agents arrived at the scene. "What caught our attention was the calm with which he reported the facts, and any family member who witnesses an event like this becomes very agitated," said the police officer.

According to the 5th Jury Court of the Capital, the hearings began last Monday (29) and, in total, 30 people were interviewed. Among them were family members and the victim's daughter.

Also according to justice, the interrogation of the defendant, Lieutenant Colonel Geraldo Leite Rosa Neto - previously scheduled for this Friday (3) - was scheduled for August 28th at 10 am.

The crime
Military Police soldier Gisele Alves Santana, aged 32, was found dead in her apartment in Brás, in the central region of São Paulo, on February 18th. Initially treated as a suicide, the incident evolved into an investigation into qualified feminicide and procedural fraud.

According to the MP, after the crime the officer tried to simulate suicide by placing the gun in the victim's hand and altering the scene to mislead the investigation.

Expert reports point out inconsistencies in the version presented by the defense. The investigations identified traces of blood on the accused's clothes and evidence that he had taken a shower after the crime to eliminate evidence.

For the Public Prosecutor's Office, the murder was carried out for a base reason, related to the feeling of possession and the accused's refusal to accept the end of the relationship. The complaint also states that Gisele was surprised, with no possibility of defense, a circumstance that qualifies the crime.

Lieutenant Colonel Geraldo Leite Rosa Neto, 53 years old, Gisele's husband, has been preventively detained at the Romão Gomes Military Prison since March 18. He was denounced by the Public Prosecutor's Office and became a defendant for feminicide and procedural fraud.
