Argentina beat Honduras 2-0 on Saturday night (6), at Kyle Field, in Texas, in a friendly preparatory match for the 2026 World Cup.

With several starters rested, including star Lionel Messi and striker Julián Álvarez, the current world champions were quite economical, especially physically. Coach Lionel Scaloni's team was dominant on the field, but without creating many chances.

Lautaro Martínez, with a penalty kick in the first half, and Giuliano Simeone, in good triangulation in the final stage, scored the winning goals.

The Hondurans, with a much lower level, were barely able to compete against one of the best teams on the planet, especially in the offensive sector.

This was not Argentina's last friendly before making its World Cup debut. Next Tuesday (9), the South American team will face Iceland, at 9:30 pm (Brasília time), in a clash that takes place in Alabama.
