With one less, the USA nullifies Bosnia and is in the round of 16 of the World Cup
In another good game, the United States beat Bosnia and Herzegovina 2-0 in the 16th round of the 2026 World Cup. Even with one less, the home team dominated the match, giving rare chances to their opponents.
The goals were scored by Balogun, who was sent off in the second half, and Tillman, from a free kick, in the second half, following a mistake by goalkeeper Vasilj. This is the third time that the country has reached this stage of the competition - the first were in 1994, also playing at home, and in 2002.

The United States faces Belgium, who eliminated Senegal, in the round of 16 of the World Cup. The match takes place next Monday (6), at 9pm, at Lumen Field Stadium, in Seattle.
The game
Bosnia took advantage of the first minutes to try to bring some danger to the United States. In the opening minutes, Alajbegovic took a corner and narrowly missed scoring an Olympic goal. Freese had to stretch and throw a back pass to save the score.
But the North Americans didn't take long to balance the match and try to work more with the ball.
It only gave Balogun
Bosnia lost the ball in the middle and Balogun kept it. When it was time to finish, the attacker took a low shot and scored the goal, but the flag flag signaled it was offside.
Balogun insisted and at 44, he put the United States team ahead on the scoreboard. On a pass from Tillman, he took advantage of the defender's mistake and finished straight at the goal, without giving the goalkeeper a chance.

In the 18th minute, Balogun was sent off by Brazilian referee Raphael Klaus for making a strong tackle on defender Muharemovic that hit his heel. The dangerous game caused the VAR to call the referee to review the move, which culminated in a direct red card.

With one more, Bosnia exchanged passes but showed difficulty in setting up dangerous plays, and the United States took advantage of this.
At 33, Pulisic received a free kick in the penalty area and scored, but was in an offside position. In the next move, Radeljic committed a foul on Dest.
Tillman took the ball over the wall, and goalkeeper Vasilj hesitated, jumping late for the ball, taking the United States to 2-0.

In stoppage time, Bosnia came close to scoring with Mahmic, who tested Freeman from afar, but the ball went capriciously across the baseline, passing close to the post.
