With few words, Ancelotti shows irritation with the Seleção's draw
Carlo Ancelotti left the field visibly upset after the 1-1 draw between Brazil and Morocco, in the first round of Group C of the 2026 World Cup.
Still on the pitch, the coach was succinct when evaluating the Brazilian team's performance in their debut. "In the first half, we didn't play a good game. Then it was better. We have to improve," he said.
In the mixed zone, he spoke again about the difference between the team's two times. "I think we didn't start the game well. We lost a lot of balls, the first half wasn't good. We improved in the second half, but it was a difficult match, Morocco is a good team", said the coach.
Asked if anxiety hindered the players and if he was satisfied, he agreed. "In the first half they got out of the pressure, they made transitions to a great team, now it's time to look at the next game", added the Italian.
Brazil 1 x 1 Morocco
Morocco opened the scoring with Ismael Saibari, a 25-year-old attacking midfielder from PSV Eindhoven, from the Netherlands. He scored the goal in the 21st minute of the first half after taking advantage of a defensive error and coldly covering goalkeeper Alisson.
The play started with midfielder Brahim Díaz, who found a beautiful pass for the attacker. He received a free kick, invaded the area and covered goalkeeper Alisson to take the score off.
Brazil's equalizer came from the feet of Bruno Guimarães, who advanced from the left and found the attacker. The number 7 cut the marking, went towards the middle of the penalty area and hit a cross, with no chance for Bono.
