With changes, Brazil faces Haiti to change the atmosphere at the World Cup

The Brazilian team has the opportunity to relieve the pressure in the 2026 World Cup by facing, this Friday (18), Haiti, 85th in the updated FIFA ranking, the worst position among the participants in this edition of the World Cup.

The match for the second round of group C will be at Lincoln Financial Field, in Philadelphia, at 9:30 pm (Brasília time). TV Globo, SBT, SporTV, CazéTV (YouTube), Ge TV (YouTube) and N Sports broadcast the game.

After drawing with Morocco in their debut, having been dominated for a large part of the game, coach Carlo Ancelotti's Brazil went through days of internal and external demands, whether from the press or the fans.

For this reason, the Italian coach must promote changes, but not those that fans are clamoring for on social media. Neymar, it is worth mentioning, did not even travel to Philadelphia, focused on the final phase of recovery from his calf injury.

We have to improve the balance and quality of the game. Make fewer passes. We have the quality to do it, have an entertaining game, we have players with strength and power. The potential thought is to do better. And we have to do better

Carlo Ancelotti, coach of the Brazilian national team, at the pre-game press conference

With Matheus Cunha and without Endrick
"We're going to make some changes, I'm going to add some players who are fresher than others", admitted Ancelotti, who, just like in his debut, didn't want to change his lineup on the eve of the game against Haiti.

The tendency is for the Brazilian team to have three changes in the starting lineup. Right-back Danilo, midfielder Fabinho and striker Matheus Cunha would replace Ibañez, Casemiro and Igor Thiago, respectively.

There is also the possibility of Luiz Henrique replacing Lucas Paquetá, which would bring back the 4-2-4 formation, preferred by Ancelotti since taking over the national team.

Much requested by the fans, young striker Endrick, who didn't even come on in the second half against Morocco, may have to wait a little longer to get his chance as a starter.

We have to put Endrick at the right time (laughs). Let's wait a little. It will be important. Matheus Cunha is more associative, he has more quality as a second striker than a reference, something that Igor Thiago has. He's strong, he's very aggressive. Endrick is neither one nor the other. Endrick is an extraordinary talent. Brazil will take advantage of its qualities in this and the next World Cup

Is scoring against Haiti an obligation?
The expectation of an elastic score against Haiti goes beyond the poor ranking of the Caribbean team. The history also points to this: in three games, Brazil beat their opponents 4-0, 6-0 and 7-1.

It is true that the moment for both is different. Haiti played a tough game in their debut against Scotland. They lost 1-0, but even flirted with a draw, which would give Haiti the first point in the history of the World Cup.

The elastic score would be essential for the Brazilian team to be in a good position, aiming for the final leadership of group C. After all, if everything goes as expected, the dispute with Morocco would be on goal difference - the Africans will face Scotland at 7pm (Brasília time).

In a press conference the day before the match, however, experienced full-back Danilo avoided talking about a rout.

Talking about how many goals, that really is a very high expectation and a lack of respect, I would say, with what football is nowadays. The way to break this, my friend, we can't wait for the ball to drop. From the moment we release the player between the lines, attacking deep, crossing movements, playing the ball out and crossing, filling the area, this is our way of demonstrating to our fans that we really want the result, understand?

Danilo, full-back of the Brazilian National Team

Probable lineups for Brazil and Haiti

- Brazil: Alisson; Danilo, Marquinhos, Gabriel Magalhães and Douglas Santos; Fabinho and Bruno Guimarães; Luiz Henrique (Lucas Paquetá), Raphinha, Matheus Cunha and Vini Jr. Coach: Carlo Ancelotti.
- Haiti: Placide; Arcus, Ricardo Adé, Delcroix and Expérience; Louicius Deedson, Danley, Bellegarde and Providence; Pierrot and Isidor. Coach: Sébastien Migné.

Rayan and Igor Thiago are players who gained the most value after being called up
