With attacking brilliance, Germany thrashes Finland in test before the World Cup

Forward Deniz Undav scored two goals in Germany's quiet 4-0 victory over Finland, in a friendly played this Sunday (31), two days before the four-time world champions embark for the 2026 World Cup.

Undav opened the scoring with a header in the 34th minute. Shortly after the break, he served Florian Wirtz, who scored the second German goal. Deniz scored again in the second half, after a precise pass from Lennart Karl, and Jamal Musiala scored the fourth goal.

Germany is focused on winning the World Cup title, seeking to redeem itself after the surprising eliminations in the group stage in the 2018 and 2022 editions.

The hosts completely controlled the match from the start. Young Karl, who has had a meteoric rise this season for Bayern Munich, gave more speed to the team's game, while striker Deniz Undav had two chances saved by Finnish goalkeeper Lukas Hradecky.

On the third attempt, in the 34th minute, Undav finally scored with a header and put Germany ahead. Four minutes after the match resumed, the Stuttgart striker became a waiter when he pressed the ball out and played for Wirtz to push it into the net.

Karl hit the post 10 minutes into the second half, and then played a perfect pass for Undav, who scored Germany's third goal. Then Musiala found enough space to beat Hradecky.

Germany open in World Cup Group E against Curaçao on June 14, before facing Ivory Coast and Ecuador.
