Federal deputy Marina Silva (Rede-SP) reaffirmed, in an interview with CNN Brasil this Thursday (11), that she is a pre-candidate for the Federal Senate for São Paulo.

Former Finance Minister Fernando Haddad, pre-candidate for the government of São Paulo, and President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) have not yet defined the composition of the electoral platform in the state, which in addition to Marina's name also includes those of the former Minister of Planning Simone Tebet and the former Minister of Entrepreneurship Márcio França, both from the PSB, as possibilities for the two seats in dispute this year.

"We are working to have an excellent composition here in São Paulo, which supports Haddad and Lula. A strong ticket here in SP is strategic for Lula's campaign. We will have to finalize as quickly as possible the ticket for two seats for the Senate and Fernando Haddad's vice-president", stated the deputy.

Despite the uncertainty, Lula demonstrated to his allies, as revealed by CNN Brasil, a preference for the names Marina and Tebet. The assessment is that Marina can help in Lula's election in the capital of São Paulo and the metropolitan region, while Tebet has a better performance in the interior.

"We have our team from the Rede-PSOL federation already in place, PSOL is a party that has six federal deputies, it went to the second round twice here in the state. It's fair that we are represented on the majority ticket", said Marina.

The declaration is made amid the premise that the vice-governor spot on Haddad's ticket will go to the PSB, which opens up space for Marina as a candidate for the Senate.

According to sources heard by CNN Brasil, France denied Lula's request to be Haddad's deputy.

The refusal arises from the intention to secure a mandate from 2027, after being defeated in the dispute in 2022.

The PT member spoke with Lula at the end of May and should consider the idea of giving up his candidacy depending on a future offer if the PT member is elected for a new term and Haddad is not elected governor.
