"[Smith had] fared so bad in this enclosed space," Sonnenfeld continues in the interview. "Tommy is a manly man. If you talk to him about intellectual things, he says: 'I'm just a rancher.' So he played it cool. But man, as soon as we opened it up, Tommy was outta there." The Set Evacuated For 3 Hours According to Sonnenfeld, things came to a head during the scene where Smith and Jones drive a car upside down in a tunnel. Filming the scene required about a 10-minute process just to get the two strapped into the car safely. And that's when Smith deployed his deadliest weapon. The set was evacuated 'for about three hours' after the incident. According to Sonnenfeld, it happened during the scene in which Smith and Jones are in a transforming car that travels at hyper speeds and flips over. Will Smith tried his hardest not to shoot this scene because the fart was so bad that he had to evacuate the set.
