Why did the Champions League final change time?

Paris Saint-Germain and Arsenal will face each other this Saturday (30) in the grand final of the Uefa Champions League in Budapest, Hungary. With the recent Premier League champion and the current Champions League winner, the decision will have an important change.

UEFA changed the traditional timetable of recent seasons, moving it forward by three hours. The game will be played at 1pm, Brasília time, different from the traditional 4pm.

According to the entity, the change aims to offer a better experience to the public, allowing fans to use public transport after the match and extend celebrations in the host cities, generating additional economic impact.

"The new start time will make the final even more accessible, inclusive and impactful," said UEFA president Aleksander Ceferin. He highlighted that, unlike midweek games, which are played earlier, Saturday's decision can be held earlier without losing the audience.

The first Champions League final under the new schedule will be played at the Puskás Arena, in Budapest.
