Whoever votes for Flávio will probably hand the election to Lula, says Zema
The pre-candidate for the presidency of the Republic for Novo, Romeu Zema, stated this Monday (25) that "whoever is voting for Flávio [Bolsonaro], will most likely be handing the election to Lula".
The criticism comes after the release of a Datafolha survey that shows a drop in voting intentions for the PL pre-candidate following the repercussion of the scandal involving dialogues between Flávio Bolsonaro and banker Daniel Vorcaro, from Banco Master.
"It's very worrying. If in 2022 it was already difficult for the right, with this scandal now it's even more so, because in 2022 we didn't have anything that resembled this. So, I'm very worried that we are handing this election over to the left once again. And these latest polls have shown that whoever is voting for Flávio will most likely be handing the election over to Lula", he assessed.
The Novo pre-candidate once again declared himself disappointed with Flávio Bolsonaro:
"I was very disappointed with everything that happened. Someone who has such a close relationship with a criminal banker, who is what I consider Mr. Vorcaro, the biggest criminal in the financial system in the history of Brazil and probably one of the biggest in the world", he said.
Zema's statements took place during a press conference in the debate cycle promoted by Amcham (American Chamber of Commerce for Brazil).
At the same event, PSD pre-candidate Ronaldo Caiado adopted a milder tone when commenting on the scandal involving Flávio Bolsonaro and the owner of the Master bank.
When asked whether Flávio should withdraw from the presidential election, after defending the removal of STF ministers involved in the scandal, Caiado stated that this is a decision that is up to the PL:
"The party is the one who must analyze who will represent it in an electoral campaign. What I said in relation to the Supreme Court is that there can be no doubt about it. So personal problems cannot contaminate the credibility of an institution as important as this", he stated.
On the other hand, Caiado once again stated that Flávio Bolsonaro's explanations about the exchanges of messages with Daniel Vorcaro "were not convincing".
"It is not up to each of us to make value judgments. Now, so far, the explanations he [Flávio] gave have not been convincing. I was the first, not in an opportunistic way, to say that it is up to him to have the right to explain the facts", he assessed.
