American singer Oliver Tree is among the victims of the plane crash that left six people dead in Rio de Janeiro, this Sunday morning (14). Californian artist known for his eccentric look came to Brazil for shows on his international tour "World's First World Tour". Oliver Tree had more than 2.3 million followers on social media and, on June 6th, he performed a show in São Paulo.

A native of Santa Cruz, California, the artist began his career in ska and electronic bands until he went viral with pop songs. With a unique haircut and stylish clothes, his three studio albums - "Ugly Is Beautiful" (2020), "Cowboy Tears" (2022) and "Alone in a Crowd" (2023) - have accumulated 11 million listeners on Spotify.

Oliver moved between pop, alternative rock, electronica and hip-hop, and his shows interspersed music with theatrical scenes, comedy sketches and interactions with the public. After visiting Brazil, the artist would go to Europe and perform his first show in Lisbon, Portugal, on July 1st.

On social media, he published humor and satire videos, and shared his routine on tour across Latin America. Some of the posts have accumulated more than 1 million views and the song "Miss You" constantly tops the viral videos.

Recently, Oliver had published a video with the Brazilian tiktoker Iae Break, doing "Brazilian" things, such as barbecue, football and riding a motorcycle in a community.

In the comments, internet users celebrated the artist's excitement with the country's culture. "From Oliver to Oliveira", commented one. "He's become a kid now, Olivin is our black belt", joked another. "Lucky I'm not a foreigner, now I'm from Rio!", commented the singer in the publication itself.

Oliver's best-known relationship was with singer Melanie Martinez. The artists publicly announced their relationship in October 2019, but the relationship came to an end before the middle of 2020. After the end of the relationship, the singer herself had to ask fans to stop attacking her ex-boyfriend on social media, claiming that the breakup between the two was amicable.
