Who is the Japanese influencer who went viral with reaction after defeat?
Japanese influencer Gamix became one of the most talked about characters of the 2026 World Cup after going viral with an exaggerated reaction to Japan's defeat to Brazil, last Monday (29). The video quickly took over social media and made the content creator gain hundreds of thousands of new followers.
In the recording, Gamix appears wearing the Japanese team's shirt amidst the Brazilian fans. After Brazil's 2-1 victory, he screams, cries and acts of despair, while Brazilian fans joke about the situation, hug him, kiss his face and wrap him in the Brazilian flag.
Shortly afterwards, the influencer himself revealed that the scene was staged. In a behind-the-scenes video published on Instagram stories, he showed the moment he hands over his cell phone to someone else to record his reaction, confirming that it was all part of a comedy production.
Gamix also explained that he ended up watching the match in the sector reserved for Brazilian fans because he mistakenly bought a ticket in that area of the stadium. After the game, he joined in the fun, letting them remove his Japan shirt and wearing a Brazilian team shirt. In the publication, he also wrote that Japan will win the next World Cup.
The repercussion was immediate. Brazilians invaded his social networks with humorous comments and started calling him "Brazilians' favorite Japanese guy." In just a few hours, the influencer's profile jumped from around 200,000 to over 500,000 followers.

Gamix is 18 years old and is a streamer and digital influencer known for producing live broadcasts, vlogs and challenge videos. His main channel is on YouTube, where he has more than 1 million subscribers. He also regularly posts content on Instagram and TikTok.
Even before going viral during the World Cup, Gamix was already drawing attention for a curious promise: he stated that he intends to collaborate with North American YouTuber MrBeast by the end of 2026. If he is unable to achieve this goal, he said he intends to end his career on social media.
After the success of the World Cup video, Gamix took advantage of the moment to produce new content aimed at the Brazilian public. One of them was recorded alongside influencer Camila Loures. The two posted a little dance on TikTok and the influencer even wore the Brazil shirt.
