Who is the former NBA player who was in Vorcaro's sights, according to the PF
According to information from the PF (Federal Police), revealed last Tuesday (16), banker Daniel Vorcaro, former owner of Banco Master, allegedly acted to forge a drug possession case against former NBA (American basketball league) player Ronald Fred Seikaly, ex-husband of Martha Graeff, then Vorcaro's girlfriend.
Known as Rony Seikaly, 61, he works as a DJ and has published music since 2012. Seikaly was born in Lebanon and naturalized American.
As an NBA player, he participated in a total of 678 games between 1989 and 1999, with stints at the Miami Heat, where he played most of the time, as well as the Golden State Warriors, Orlando Magic and New Jersey Nets.
The former athlete lived in Lebanon until he was 14 years old, when he moved to Greece, where he started playing amateur basketball until moving to the USA in 1983. Seikaly is divorced and has two daughters, the youngest being six years old, with Martha Graeff.
PF investigation
According to the PF, Vorcaro worked with Luiz Phillipi Mourão, known as "Sicário", to check whether the DJ would visit Brazil or attract the musician to the country to carry out "a possible approach or simulation of the 'incident involving drugs'".
The investigation indicates that the action against the former athlete was motivated by a disagreement between Seikaly and a son of Vorcaro.
"[Vorcaro] Promised to hire people to follow the DJ on foreign soil (Miami), promote an incident in order to fake a drug incident to arrest/embarrass the musician, as well as to sue the "interpol friend" against the DJ", says an excerpt from the PF report.
The document indicates that the banker intended to invest R$10 million in the venture. However, the survey was unable to identify who the "friend of Interpol" mentioned in the conversations would be.
In addition to the plan, "A Turma", Vorcaro's personal militia, also forged a document with the letterhead of the MPF (Federal Public Ministry) with a request for cooperation with Interpol (International Criminal Police Organization) in an alleged investigation against the DJ.
According to the false letter, which had the forged signature of a public prosecutor, Rony Seikaly would be investigated for the practice of embezzlement and distribution or publication of child pornographic content.
In addition, it was also pointed out that the DJ would use a fake profile of Martha Graeff to "practice extortion and disseminate false information".
