Who is the Brazilian model killed in the Venezuela earthquake
Brazilian model Vanessa Zacarias da Silva, 44, is among the victims of the earthquakes that hit Venezuela last Wednesday (24). She had been living for around two months in La Guaira with her boyfriend, who is Venezuelan, a coastal city located 30 km from Caracas. The two met because of her work as a model.
The information about Vanessa's death was released by her brother, Thiago Nogueira, on his social networks: "He went to live his life, as he always did, but unfortunately a fatality caused by the earthquakes in Venezuela took this wonderful person from our midst", he wrote. Itamaraty confirmed two deaths of Brazilians and reported that it is providing consular assistance to the families of the victims.

On social media, other family members and friends paid their last tributes to her. One of them stated that she was a "joyful, human and serene" person: "Our most human, most joyful and most earthly sister, was the first to leave the earth, but she will always be alive. It was only the body that left the suffering", he wrote.
Earthquake in Venezuela
The north coast of Venezuela was hit, on Wednesday, by two of the biggest earthquakes to affect the country in more than a century. Authorities warn that the number of victims could increase.
The tremors were felt across the country, in neighboring Colombia and Brazil. Videos geolocated by CNN show extensive damage to buildings and infrastructure across Venezuela, including in the capital, Caracas.
A magnitude 7.2 earthquake occurred about 100 miles west of Caracas, followed less than a minute later by a magnitude 7.5 tremor, according to the United States Geological Survey (USGS).
The USGS, based on predictive models to estimate the number of victims, stated that the total number of deaths could reach the thousands, with a significant probability of exceeding 10 thousand.
According to the interim president, the country is focusing its efforts on search and rescue operations, including the arrival of international teams in the coming hours. She also thanked foreign leaders, including United States President Donald Trump.
