This and other data were released by the Spanish Ministry of Inclusion, Social Security and Migration to defend the program, launched in April by the government of Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez, and provide a profile of the candidates.

Brazil does not appear among the five countries with the most citizens who have requested regularization. The data does not specify exactly how many immigrants are Brazilian, but it is possible to say that the total is less than 4.9%, the percentage of Hondurans, the fifth nationality that most joined the program.
Two out of every three candidates are from Central and South America, while 22.9% are of African origin and 8.3% from Asia; 84% of people who are in the regularization process have full linguistic competence in Spanish.
"From the beginning, we expected that the main beneficiaries would be immigrants from South and Central America, and that is exactly what was confirmed: 67% of applicants come from these regions, including Brazil. One factor that may explain this scenario is that many Brazilians who decided to emigrate to Europe initially chose Portugal, believing that the language would facilitate adaptation. However, when we analyze migration legislation, Spain appears to be a much more receptive country", explains Renata Barbalho, immigration specialist and CEO of Spain Fácil consultancy.
