Whitewashed to CNN: "Classification of factions as terrorists demoralizes Lula"

The former governor of Goiás and pre-candidate for President, Ronaldo Caiado (PSD), told CNN that the classification of factions as terrorist organizations by the United States is "demoralizing" for President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT), his competitor in the dispute for the Palácio do Planalto.

"It's the missing certificate to confirm that Lula has always protected them. The world and Brazilians recognize them as terrorists and Lula classifies them as victims of users. Demoralizing for Lula. It's done", he declared.

CNN sought out Planalto to comment on Caiado's speech. The space is open.

This Thursday (28), the United States announced that it will classify criminal factions Comando Vermelho (CV) and Primeiro Comando da Capital (PCC) as foreign terrorist organizations. The initiative comes after a visit by Flávio Bolsonaro (PL), also a pre-candidate for President, to American President Donald Trump and other senior members of the White House.

The right celebrated the United States' measure. The government supporters criticized the decision, as it could pose risks to national sovereignty.

For Caiado, who has public security as one of his main political themes, the new classification is a success. He said that, if he were already president, he would have taken the action himself.

Throughout the electoral campaign, the classification of the factions as terrorists by the United States should become one of the points defended by the right to argue that Lula would not have done enough against these groups.
