When will the Brasileirão come back? See return date after Brazil's elimination

With Brazil's elimination to Norway in the round of 16 of the 2026 World Cup, this Sunday (5), the focus of many fans begins to change. With the World Cup still underway, the main competition on the national calendar is once again gaining ground in conversations: after all, when will the Brasileirão return?

The wait won't be long. Although the World Cup final is scheduled for July 19th, the Brazilian Championship resumes even before the tournament is decided. The 19th round will begin on July 16th, marking the end of the break caused by the World Cup.

The opening of the round will feature two simultaneous games: Botafogo x Santos and Vitória x Vasco, both at 7:30 pm. The following day, Fluminense x Bragantino and Mirassol x Grêmio continue the round.

The remaining clashes will be played over the following week. On Tuesday (21), Atlético-MG hosts Bahia. On Wednesday (22), the calendar has four matches: Coritiba x Palmeiras, São Paulo x Athletico-PR, Internacional x Cruzeiro and Chapecoense x Flamengo. The round will end on Thursday (23), with Corinthians x Remo.
