War could reduce the number of international tourists in the Middle East by up to 27%, says consultancy

The war between the United States and Israel against Iran could cause a drop of 11% to 27% in the number of international visitors to the Middle East in 2026, according to an estimate released this Tuesday (3) by the consultancy Tourism Economics.
In December, the company's projection was for a 13% increase in the flow of tourists in the region this year.
Now, the new assessment indicates that the Middle East may receive between 23 million and 38 million fewer foreign visitors than expected.
The reduction would represent a loss of between US$34 billion and US$56 billion in tourist spending in 2026, according to the consultancy.
