Wall Street operates higher after US and Iran suspend attacks
Wall Street's main stock indexes are trading higher this Monday (29), after the United States and Iran agreed to suspend the attacks.
Iran launched missiles and drones against US military installations in Kuwait and Bahrain on Saturday night (28), shortly after US President Donald Trump threatened to annihilate the Iranian leadership if it did not comply with the interim agreement to end the war.
Previously, the US military said it had attacked Iran again, hours after an oil tanker was hit in the Strait of Hormuz.
In addition, President Donald Trump said on Monday (29) that the US will meet with Iran in Doha this Tuesday (30).
At around 11:40 am, Brasília time, the Dow Jones index gained 0.78%, to 52,281 points, the Nasdaq rose 1.07%, to 25,567 points, and the S&P 500 rose 0.70%, to 7,405 points.
Oil prices are operating at a high. WTI oil, the American reference, for August, was up 1.60%, at US$70.34 per barrel. Brent oil, the global benchmark, for September, rose 1.35%, to US$73.58 a barrel.
Among the market highlights, Comcast jumped more than 9% after announcing the division of the company's media and technology operations.
