WAGs regret Brazil's elimination from the World Cup and console players

After the elimination of the Brazilian team to Norway in the World Cup, in a round of 16 match last Sunday (5), the WAGs - the athletes' wives - spoke out on social media. The "seleswives" used digital platforms to mourn the defeat and provide support to the players.

The influencer was the first to speak out. Pregnant with the player's third daughter, she shared a post in her stories with the caption "Legends aren't remembered only for what they won. They're remembered for who they inspired."

Natalia Belloli also spoke out through a text in which she thanked the Brazilian fans for their support and paid tribute to her husband. The striker did not play in the last match due to an injury to his hamstring, despite having started the competition in the starting lineup.

"The end of a World Cup is always like this. There are four years of waiting, preparation, dreams and giving up for a single goal. And when the path ends before the long-awaited six, it hurts", she wrote. "It hurts for those on the field, it hurts for those in the stands and it hurts for millions of Brazilians who dreamed together."

"(...) We are proud of those who fought until the end, of those who honored every second on the field and of those who carry this responsibility with so much love", added Natalia.

Tammy Parisoto, wife of Luiz Henrique
Luiz Henrique's wife, published a story shortly after the match, in which she highlighted the resilience and overcoming of the Brazilian people. "Thank you, Seleção, for every emotion experienced so far. The dream this time ends sooner, but the love for our shirt remains the same," she wrote.

Ana Lídia Martins also paid tribute to her husband in a post on Instagram. The player missed a penalty at the beginning of the match that took Brazil out of contention for the sixth championship.

"Football has the power to take you to heaven and hell, at the same speed and in the same proportion", she began. "I saw my husband make dreams come true, cry with happiness. I saw our family in ecstasy, my in-laws drenched in pride, my children filled with joy every time they saw him on television. We were in heaven and the goal seemed so palpable... but this sport is called football, and in it it is very easy to fall in the opposite direction."

In the comments, friends and family echoed Ana Lídia's tribute and condemned fans who harshly criticized the player for "a single mistake". "He was absurd, giant in every game! Stay in peace", wished one internet user. "It's sad to see how the Brazilian turns a single mistake into a sentence. Bruno had a great competition, he honored his shirt in every game", argued another.

Natalia Becker, wife of goalkeeper Alisson Becker, shared a post with a photo of the player and a phrase he said after the elimination. "Don't lose confidence, don't lose hope. Keep dreaming and we will also keep dreaming about doing our best here", he declared in an interview.
